Semi-Precious Amethyst Stone:

Amethyst is the most precious of the entire quartz family group.  Amethyst is a stunningly beautiful stone, renowned for its gorgeous purple color and well suited for jewelry making. In fact, the more opaque purple it has the more valuable the stone becomes.  Amethyst colors can range from lavender, lilac (light purple) to mauve (pale purple). If you heat the mineral, it will transform in Citrine aka yellow quartz.   

In astrology, Amethyst stone is the birthstone of February. The stone symbolizes sincerity.

The stone has also been known by other names aka “sobriety stone” The reason for is during early period of ancient Room, the Romans use to crush the Amethyst stones into the wine serving cups. It was believe by doing so would prevent drunkenness.  The Romans believe by drinking it would bring on a more clear-headed mind.

Amethyst obtained it name from the Greek Amethysts aka “against drunkenness’”.  Amethyst is known throughout history as a stone that promotes strength, stability, and tranquility. Other beliefs include assist with restlessness and insomnia.
